Summer in Samoens..
From the chalet stroll into Samoëns village with its attractive atmosphere. This Ville Fleuri is listed in its entirety as a Monument Historique.
Close to Chamonix with its Aiguille du Midi cable-car and the Mont Blanc glaciers and to Annecy with its famous old town and the lake. To the north is Evian on the beautiful south shore of Lake Geneva.The village has wide variety of specialty shops, 3 boulangeries with two small 7-day superettes and a weekly market (Wednesday). A large supermarket is situated just outside the village.
This is a hub for many summer sports activities. For mountain walking enthusiasts there is the GR 5 trans-Europe trail just 1km from the chalet. There are numerous mountain refuges and gîtes to discover and also mountain-biking, rock-climbing, canyonning, potholing, via-ferrata, white-water rafting, tennis, mini-golf and a driving range across water ! There are several golf course within an hour of the village and the area has world renowned paragliding facilities.
This is a major centre for hang-gliding, with scenic flights by helicopter or hot air balloon.
The huge Indiana Park provides an adventure assault course. Guides, tuition and hire equipment are available in the village.The village is a real working (farming) community and visitors are encouraged to visit an eco-museum and delve into the Savoyard traditions. Our beautiful restaurants serve gourmet, traditional and local dishes.
